Hardware Options

Truth Hardware’s Encore Operators – Winder Operated

Winder hardware option uses a rotary operation system to open the window and it consists of 3 components:

  1. Operator and Cover – Operator hardware is located at the base of the window and the mechanism that opens the window sash is only visible when the sash is in the open position. Awning windows use different styles of operators. Operator cover (handle) sits on the spline shaft and is turned to open and close the sash. Cover sits directly under the operator handle and covers the operator gears. Crank handles offer easy operation by rotating a crank to open and close the window. Folding handles provide a sleek and modern look, folding neatly against the window frame when not in use.
  2. Sash locks – The lock hardware is located on either side of the window frame and locks the window. For awning window locks are install on both sides. The locks pulls the sash toward the frame evenly from all sides, this ensures the compression seal is engaged properly and acts as a barrier to air leaks and drafts and ultimately performs to its full potential. Available in two option
  3. Hinges – for awning opening we can offer friction hinges or 2D butt hinges.

Friction hinges allow the window to open and close smoothly while providing stability in various positions. They come in different sizes to accommodate different window sizes and weights.

Size Restrictions:

  • Awning Width (min – max) 400 – 800 mm
  • Awning Height (min – max) 500 – 1200mm
  • Max. Awning Sash Weight 55kg

Push Out Espag Gearing – Handle Operated

Push out Espag multipoint gear option operated all locks via a single movement of handle and it consists of 4 components:

  1. High security mushroom espagnolette gear – multipoint lock. Espag is short for espagnolette. Available in 2 and 4-point locking options.
  2. Espagnolette Striker – These keeps/strikers are a vital part for the window espag lock mechanism to engage into, to secure the window in a closed or night vented position.
  3. Friction Stays –  A wide variety of lengths suit different applications and include: 8inch 10inch, 12inch, 16inch, 20inch, and 24inch. Our friction hinges are available in Standard, Egress, and Restricted these high quality products will improve the weather sealing of your window and ensure a smooth opening and closing action.
  4. Key operated push button handles. The espagnolette handle has a square spindle that projects from the back of the handle and enters the gearbox of the lock mechanism, which is hidden inside the window. By turning the handle you turn the mechanism inside the window which then turns the locking points around the window. Available in straight – inline option and cranked option

Inline – Straight: These are universal handles and can be fitted onto both left and right hand opening windows.

Cranked: Available either cranked left or right. A cranked handle is the ideal choice for windows where the handle will be set close to the edge of the frame and will give the operator greater clearance to open the window.

Size Restrictions:

  • Awning Width (min – max) 400 – 1400 mm
  • Awning Height (min – max) 450 – 1200mm
  • Max. Awning Sash Weight 55kg
